Born from a sea shell in the Island of Synthera, Venus/Aphrodite, a symbol of beauty, a foreseer of men’s destinies, the most seductive of deities, is known to have had many lovers; Adonis, Anchises, Mars and Vulcan. She is the Mother of Cupid, represented by doves, myrtle, pearls, and sea shells.
Aphrodite was madly in love with Adonis. After he was killed in a hunting accident, she transformed his blood into animones.
Alchemical/Transformative Goddess comprises only of Aphrodite who “generated love and beauty, erotic attraction, sensuality, sexuality, and new life. She entered relationships of her own choosing and was never victimized. Thus she maintained her autonomy, like a virgin goddess, and was in relationships, like a vulnerable goddess” – Shinoda Bolen, MD.
